The relative accuracy was assembled by comparing adjacent rectified images. The absolute accuracy was assessed by measuring 20 of the ground control points in the rectified image against the same point in the supplied first generation DOQQ used in the Aerial Triangulation. The testing was for overall accuracy.
1
After all ground control points within the orthorectified project area were compared against their respective positions in the first generation DOQQ, the RMSE was computed at the absolute accuracy value

Photo Control Transfers and ABGPS/INS
ABGPS and ground control (i.e., horizontal/vertical, horizontal only and vertical only) used in creating the project control.
High resolution digital imagery was collected using a state of the art digital pushbroom scanner. The scanner includes an onboard GPS/INS system, enabling direct determination of the sensor's exterior orientation. The GPS/INS data was post-processed for optimum accuracy. Aerial triangulation was subsequently performed to refine the misalignment parameters for each flight using precisely measured tie points. The 1 arc second NED DEM was sourced from the USGS Seamless Server and used in the orthorectification process. Ground control was sourced from first generation DOQQs and measured in the final orthophoto products. The absolute accuracy was determined by computing the RMS of these residuals. Finally, common points between adjacent strips were measured to ensure high relative accuracy.
