The existing LiDAR and terrain data was processed by Woolpert, Inc. to a DEM at a five foot spacing, tiled, and numbered into 5000' x 5000' tiles according to the Florida Statewide (2007) tiling scheme for the Southwest Florida Water Management District's Topographic Information and Publication System (TIPS) project in 2008. This metadata record covers an aggregate of collections in 2007 in Southwest Florida to facilitate distribution through the NOAA Digital Coast. Original contact information: Contact Name: Mapping and GIS Section Contact Org: Southwest Florida Water Management District Phone: (352) 796-7211 purpose: This Digital Elevation Model (DEM) was constructed for the explicit purpose of water modeling within watersheds. The data is designed to meet or exceed the National Spatial Standards for Digital Data (NSSDA) as specified in the survey reports that accompany the original project data. credit: SWFWMD, Florida Division of Emergency Management, and Woolpert, Inc. status: (MD_ProgressCode) completed pointOfContact: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: NOAA Office for Coastal Management contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: (843) 740-1202 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: 2234 South Hobson Ave city: Charleston administrativeArea: SC postalCode: 29405-2413 country: (missing) electronicMailAddress: coastal.info@noaa.gov onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: https://coast.noaa.gov protocol: WWW:LINK-1.0-http--link name: NOAA Office for Coastal Management Website description: NOAA Office for Coastal Management Home Page function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) pointOfContact pointOfContact: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: NOAA Office for Coastal Management contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: (843) 740-1202 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: 2234 South Hobson Ave city: Charleston administrativeArea: SC postalCode: 29405-2413 country: (missing) electronicMailAddress: coastal.info@noaa.gov onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: https://coast.noaa.gov protocol: WWW:LINK-1.0-http--link name: NOAA Office for Coastal Management Website description: NOAA Office for Coastal Management Home Page function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) custodian resourceMaintenance: (MD_MaintenanceInformation) maintenanceAndUpdateFrequency: (MD_MaintenanceFrequencyCode) irregular descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: DEM keyword: FDEM keyword: TIPS type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) theme thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: DTM date: (missing) descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: Charlotte County keyword: Citrus County keyword: DeSoto County keyword: Florida keyword: Hardee County keyword: Hernando County keyword: Highlands County keyword: Hillsborough County keyword: Manatee County keyword: Pasco County keyword: Pinellas keyword: SWFWMD keyword: Sarasota County keyword: Southwest Florida Water Management District type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) place thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: SWFWMD date: (missing) descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: DEMs - partner (no harvest) type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) project thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: InPort date: (inapplicable) resourceConstraints: (MD_LegalConstraints) useConstraints: (MD_RestrictionCode) otherRestrictions otherConstraints: Cite As: OCM Partners, [Date of Access]: Florida Department of Emergency Management 2007 Southwest Florida DEM [Data Date Range], https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/inport/item/49405. resourceConstraints: (MD_Constraints) useLimitation: NOAA provides no warranty, nor accepts any liability occurring from any incomplete, incorrect, or misleading data, or from any incorrect, incomplete, or misleading use of the data. First and last return data was collected along with the signal return intensity. Two redundant airborne GPS bases stations were utilized during the data acquisition with maximum line-of-sight distance between the base station and aircraft of 20-km. The LiDAR data was reduced using Grafnav (Waypoint Consulting) for GPS post-processing, PosProc (Applanix Crop) for IMU processing, ALS50 Post Processor (LH Systems) to initial LiDAR processing, TerraScan (Terrasolid) for initial point classification, and proprietary Woolpert developed software for refining the point classification and QC. The LiDAR data was reviewed in 3D using a digital photogrammetric workstation using ADS40 digital stereo imagery. 3D breaklines were collected at the digital photogrammetric workstation during the LiDAR data review. These breaklines were delineated to insure the DTM is hydrologically correct. The original LiDAR data was developed in accordance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Guidelines and Specifications for Flood Hazard Mapping Partners, Appendix A: Guidance for Aerial Mapping and Surveying, April 2003. result: (missing) lineage: (LI_Lineage) statement: (missing) processStep: (LI_ProcessStep) description: The existing LiDAR Masspoints and breaklines were imported into ArcGIS v9.2 with Service Pack 6 and the LP360 extension (by QCoherent, Inc.) v 1.62. The LiDAR data and Breaklines were used to construct a hydro-enforced surface that was exported as a Floating Point grid (.FLT format). The grid file was provided in ESRI 32-bit floating point Grid format. dateTime: DateTime: 2008-01-01T00:00:00 processStep: (LI_ProcessStep) description: Original data for FDEM Southwest Florida DEMs were downloaded from the FDEM ftp site ftp://ftp.labins.org/LiDAR/ by the NOAA Office of Coastal Management. Data were in ESRI ArcGrid format with vertical units of feet. To provide the data in an open format, NOAA converted the DEMS to GeoTIFF format and vertical units of meters using 'gdal_translate -scale 0 1 0 0.3048 infile.adf outfile.tif' for each file. dateTime: DateTime: 2017-03-01T00:00:00 processStep: (LI_ProcessStep) description: Units were converted back to feet to match the horizontal units. Georeferencing was added for the vertical. Cloud optimized geotiffs were produced. dateTime: DateTime: 2022-09-12T00:00:00 processor: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: NOAA Office for Coastal Management contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: (843) 740-1202 address: (CI_Address) electronicMailAddress: coastal.info@noaa.gov role: (CI_RoleCode) processor |
